We will have more than 3 times the acreage (24 acres) at the new site as compared to the fairgrounds. The site is part of a former golf course and is beautiful rolling grass mixed with pine trees. Our vision is eventually to have about 200 reservable campsites with electricity (as compared to 105 now). Our reserved sites will be about 75% larger than the fairground sites and most will have some trees. There will also be lots of primitive camping opportunities in and amongst the pines for those who like it a little more rustic. Click here to donate to the new site improvements.
We intend to have some electrical sites in place next year, but we will almost certainly not have as many as we currently have ready for 2020, which means some campers will have to go without electric who have had it in the past. Until we are at least back to our current level of electrical sites, we will have more generous generator hours so folks can keep their batteries charged.
We plan to have most of the 200 reservable sites staked out on the site plan and those sites will eventually have electricity. You may request a reserved site at the 2019 festival for 2020 by making a deposit and indicating your site preference. Sites will be assigned according to your preferences and the following priority:
First Priority will be given to those who help us to fund our new campground by purchasing a Legacy (Lifetime) Campsite for $2,500 (see the section on donations for details).
Second Priority will be for those who have reserved sites in 2019, with higher priority going to those who have had reserved sites the longest. Indicate on the reservation form your reserved site # for 2019 and how many years you have had a reserved electrical site at the fairgrounds.
Third Priority will be those attending the festival in 2019 but without reserved camping (either not camping or camping in primitive)
Last priority will be given to those who send in camping requests after the 2019 festival.
Deposit: You can reserve a site by filling out the request form and making a non-refundable deposit of $45 (equal to 3 nights of primitive camping – see new rates below) from Noon to 4:00, Friday and Saturday in the Food Court pavilion. If electricity is available to your site in 2020, you will owe the electrical site flat rate less your $45 deposit (see new rates below).
SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION
We will draw names for site selection based on the above priorities. We plan to notify you of your assigned site by July 1, 2020. Please understand that we cannot accommodate everyone’s requests and we reserve the right to assign campsites as best suited for our new venue and your camping unit. This is all new and there will surely be a learning curve as we get this all figured out, so please be understanding and flexible. We are very excited to have this new facility and we look forward to working with you to provide a permanent and beautiful home for the Lakes Bluegrass Festival!
