Festival Postponed until 2021

Despite our best efforts to hold the festival as planned, the Board of Directors has had to make the difficult decision to postpone the 15th Annual Lakes Bluegrass Festival until August 25-29, 2021. As of today, gatherings of over 250 are still not allowed in this phase of reopening and we have several thousand attend the festival every year. In fact, we are headed in the opposite direction with a spike in reported cases and the new mandatory mask requirement announced today (July 22).

If you purchased tickets, you may use them for next year, donate the proceeds to the festival, or request a refund. If you would like a refund, please return your tickets before August 31 to Lakes Bluegrass Festival, PO Box 187, Pine River, MN  56474.

If you have purchased camping, your payment will apply to 2021 and we will hold your reserved site in your name. You may request a refund, but please be aware that you will not have a reserved site for next year and you would need to go on the waiting list for an electrical or reserved site. If you have not paid for your reserved site yet, we would strongly encourage you to do so by the end of July as we are sold out of electrical sites and we will make any sites not renewed available to those on the waiting list and the general public as of August 1.

Although the festival is postponed until next year, there will be a small camping event Friday through Sunday the weekend that the festival was scheduled (Aug 28-30) at the new festival site. Local musicians will entertain Saturday afternoon as well as jamming all weekend. PLEASE RSVP if you will be camping on your site and when you are arriving, otherwise we may make it available for other campers (for this weekend only - It is still yours for 2021 if you have prepaid in full) and a $25 per campsite/per night donation will be requested. Non-camping visitors are also welcome ($10/person donation requested). A strict limit of 250 people will be in place and all mitigation rules in place at the time will be observed. There will not be any food vendors, shuttles or showers available, but the electricity will be on and you can camp at your reserved site or other available site.

Thank you for your understanding and we hope to see you for our camping get together. We will continue working on our new site to ensure that 2021 is the best Lakes Bluegrass Festival yet!

We have purchased our own land to be the permanent new home of the Lakes Bluegrass Festival. The new site is called the Lakes Music and Events Park and will eventually host other musical and community events in addition to the festival. Click here or the logo above for more details!
