After a year off it is time to get going again on the Lakes Blue Grass Train!

For those of you who have not had the opportunity to see the new grounds you are in for a treat!

No more water holes (we hope), blowing dust and no shade. Large camping sites for easy parking of the big rigs, water available throughout the park, portable showers on the grounds and the list goes on.

Due to the new grounds some of our volunteer positions will be changed.

Festival Headquarters will now include selling the shirts/caps/ice , checking in volunteers and selling wristbands to those who have missed the front gate.

Day Parking will be the same but you will not be isolated to the north forty, as in previous years, in all the dust and no shade!

Camping will be similar but much easier to get campers to their site.

Front Gate The Pine River Bank will not be taking the brunt of the burden at the gate this year.

The gate is going to be a work in progress. Shifts will be scheduled every 2 hours so there will always be somebody who has had experience when you are on shift. You can sign up for either pre-sold tickets or purchase at the gate, whichever you are most comfortable.

Concert Gate -  Now Concert Area Attendant.  This will be the biggest change.

There will be no fencing around the concert area this year so there will be no checking of armbands or coolers at the concert gate. The three volunteers will be under pop up tents on the outskirts of the concert area,( supplied with chair and water). The attendants will need to move around their section as needed to check for armbands, coolers and pets twice during your shift. During band breaks volunteers will need to walk around keep an eye on behavior and any special needs. This will be coordinated between the 3 attendants

Shuttle-  Rather than individual golf carts this year we have invested in a large people mover that will hold between 12-15 people.  It will keep circling the grounds during the day.

As this is a bigger unit then we have had, we are asking people who volunteer to drive this unit to have experience in pulling large trailers.   There will be one volunteer on the back of the trailer that will watch people as they board. This is not for handicapped individuals.  There will be one golf cart that is strictly for handicapped and will be signed as such .

Security  We are going back to doing our own security at night, a team of two with a cart will patrol the grounds from 10-2 each night.

Volunteer meeting for those who can attend will be Sunday the 22nd at the new grounds
